The 10th Dhaka International Plastic, Packaging, and Printing Industrial Fair was held concurrently with Bangladesh Int'l Foodtech and Bakery Tech Industrial Fair from January 27th to 30th at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Dhaka (BICC).
To orientate the demand for plastic, packaging, printing and foodtech industry in Bangladesh, IPF 2015 provided a proper platform for exhibitors, buyers, manufacturers and related exports to interchange the newest information. For all the participants, they had a great opportunity to browse the latest technology and products in one location, and have met up the professionals in person. It was a big success for IPF 2015!
Bangladesh has the potential to export plastic products worth about Tk 40 billion each year while the plastic goods worth about Tk 200 billion are being produced and supplied internally.
”The usage of plastic goods increases about 20 per cent . . . The government gets Tk 20 billion as of its revenue income from this sector,” Jashim Uddin, president of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) said Wednesday.
Highlighting the significance of the plastic sector he categorically said, “The plastic industry has a great prospect and the four-day International Plastic Summit in private partnership will be held here from January 20, 2016 aimed at creating the opportunity for an excellent gathering of the international suppliers and buyers and bringing foreign investment and economic growth to Bangladesh.”
On the upcoming international summit, former BPGMEA president Shamim Ahmed said the four-day summit included 11th International Plastic, Packaging and Printing Industrial Fair (IPF), view-exchange meetings of the member countries, council meeting of Asia Plastic Forum (APF), seminar and discussion on ‘Problems and Prospects of Plastic Waste Recycling in Bangladesh” and 16th AFPI Caucus Meeting.
He said 150 foreign delegates would take part in the council and total 350 including 200 foreign booths or stalls will be set in the summit fair. A four-day Dhaka Summit will begin on January 20 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed expected to be present in the inaugural session as the chief guest while State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan will attend as the special guest, according to a news agency.
সর্বোপরি প্লাষ্টিক শিল্পের উন্নয়ন, প্রসার ও বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে এসএমই ফাউন্ডেশন বাংলাদেশ প্লাষ্টিক দ্রব্য প্রস্তুতকারক ও রপ্তানীকারক এসোসিয়েশন (বিপিজিএমইএ) এর অনুরোধের প্রেক্ষিতে "Project Proposal Development of Bangladesh Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (BIPET)" বিষয়ক একটি ইনিস্টিটিউট স্থাপনের প্রোজেক্ট প্রোপোজাল তৈরির উদ্যোগ বিগত ২০১২-১৩ অর্থবছরে গ্রহণ করে। প্রায় ২২ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে উক্ত প্রোজেক্ট প্রোপোজালটি তৈরি করা হয়, যার ২০ লক্ষ টাকা ফাউন্ডেশন কর্তৃক প্রদান করা হয়। বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কেমিকৌশল বিভাগের সহায়তায় এসএমই ফাউন্ডেশন প্রোপোজালটি তৈরি করে। উক্ত প্রোজেক্ট প্রোপোজালে বিপেট স্থাপনের সময়কাল,স্থান, প্রয়োজনীয় স্থান, বাৎসরিক ভাড়া, বাৎসরিক উপযোগ খরচ,মূলধন, বাৎসরিক আয়,ঘাটতি, লোকবল, বিপেট স্থাপনের সম্ভাব্য অর্থায়ন ও অন্যান্য বিষয়াদি সম্পর্কে উল্লেখ করা হয়। ইতোমধ্যে বর্তমান অর্থ বছওে ২০১৪-১৫ এর বাজেটে ১০ কোটি টাকার একটি বাজেট সরকার বরাদ্দ করেছে। বিপেট তৈরির প্রথম পর্যায়ে প্রায় ২২ কেটি টাকা প্রয়োজন।
